The Sun Finds You Where You Stand

A reflection on how light—and hope—arrive in their own time, not through effort but through patience and presence.

Wherever you're standing, the sun eventually finds you.

There's an old photograph taped inside my kitchen cabinet, creased and faded: me as a kid sitting on our apartment steps at dusk, nowhere special, just waiting for dinner. I wasn't doing anything remarkable—just there. And in that moment, the last light caught my face in a way that made me look like I belonged exactly where I was. That's what this quote whispers to me now: you don't have to chase the light or scramble to find the right place or moment. Sometimes the smallest act is showing up, standing still, and letting the day work its way around to you.
